Volunteers

Heidehof relies significantly on volunteers to enhance the quality of life for our residents in our complex. Volunteers supplement and extend the work of the staff with their valued contributions of time and skill. Volunteers perform a wide range of services from a simple friendly visit to assisting with programs.

Heidehof continually looks for new volunteers to share their talents with us. No time is too great or too small to volunteer. Volunteers are needed to work with residents directly or behind the scenes. If you are interested please call and we will find something you can do within your comfort level.

Approximately 140 registered volunteers contributed over 18,600 hours for this past year. A summary of the types of volunteer work undertaken is as follows:

Board of Directors 2,371 hours
Clinic transportation 234 hours
Entertainment 907 hours
Feeding assistance 693 hours
Friendly visitation 2,899 hours
Fund raising 2,592 hours
Indoor / Outdoor work 629 hours
Other (not otherwise defined) 1,013 hours
Palliative care visitation 267 hours
Pastoral services 1,282 hours
Resident social functions 5,389 hours
Van driving / assisting 369 hours
